Jer 9:23.

”This is what the Lord says, let not the wiseman boast of their wisdom, or the strongman in his strength, or the richman boast in his riches…..”

The frailty of humanity has been badly exposed by the coming of covid19, for this little virus continues to wreck havoc on life with no answers in sight. Science has simply failed to come out with a solution. The strong and powerful in society have gone into hiding, while the rich and affluent have found very little use of their money in the face of a raging pandemic.

Governments who boasted of their resilient economies are quickly experiencing a downturn; and according to the Financial Times, an economic recession is a foregone conclusion.

Scripture is true that says “what do you have that you did not receive? Now if you did indeed receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?” 1 Cor 4 :7

Indeed there are 3 things that men often boast in.

— Human wisdom. (1 Cor 1:19)
This is often earthly, sensual and even demonic and there comes a time when God frustates the wisdom of the wise and intelligent like it is happening today.

— Human strength. (Eccl. 9:11)
The Bible states that ”the race has never been for the swift, nor the battle for the strong…” if this was not so, then Goliath in all his strength would not have come tumbling down before the young inexperienced David.

— Material wealth. (Luke 12:15)
Jesus said ”the life of a man does not consist of the abundance of things he has.” Many rich people have died through covid 19: their wealth could not save them.

Dear friend, the Bible permits us to boast in just one thing: let him who boasts, boast in the fact that he knows and understands me…
(Jer 9:24)

The question today is : What is your depth of knowledge and revelation of God? It is time to make every effort to get to know him better, for in that is your security and blessing.
